Photographs
I was so entranced with train surfaces that I began photographing them, closeup. Again, the textures, colors, and fragments of graffiti and text, often in overlapping layers was so enticing. One could create an abstract painting from any one of the photos, but sometimes it is best to let reality speak for itself! The photographs were taken both in the US and in Oaxaca, Mexico. I am no longer taking and mounting these, but am often tempted to do it again!
All of the photographs are mounted on Masonite and protected with a matte acrylic film. There is 1” floater on the back that allows for hanging. Framing is not recommended or needed. Several of the photographs (not shown here) are available at the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center in Clifton Forge, VA.
