Here are some of my favorite links:

Nimrod Hall is a very rustic, very beautiful place. More to paint than you can possibly imagine. For more information on the summer art (and writing) program, check http://www.lauraloe.com, then click on "Nimrod Hall Information" or go to www.nimrodhallart.com.

While you are on http://lauraloe.com, check out Laura’s work. She and her husband are now the dedicated owners of Nimrod, and still, with that and three growing children, she still paints up a storm.

I am a member of the American Society of Railway Artists. Check out their website and their Facebook page of the same name. It is the creation of the hard-working James Porterfield, Director of the Center for Railway Tourism at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. The Society sponsors annual shows of railway art, among other things.

My good friend Margaret Buchanan has at long last (she has been producing extraordinary paintings for a very long time) developed a website for her plein air paintings. Check them out at http://www.margaretbuchanan.com.

For some wonderful poetry and insightful commentary, check out Ellen Steinbaum’s website. Ellen lives in Boston. You can sign up for her monthly updates or sign up for her blog, "Reading and Writing and the Occasional Recipe," if you are so inclined. http://www.ellensteinbaum.com

This website, originally designed by my good friend John Sarvay, who has now started his own very successful consulting business (see www.floricane.com), has been beautifully revised and enhanced by the very capable and creative team at Torx Media, which also provides ongoing site maintenance. You can learn more about their services at http://www.TorxMedia.com

For a wonderful place to stay in Oaxaca, Mexico, check out Casa Raab. It is just outside the city, in San Pablo Etla, in the foothills of the Benito Juarez National Forest. You will enjoy the people, the food, the sunsets, the morning walks, and ( if you like dogs, the assortment of 10+ dogs that also reside there). Tony and Rebecca are the extremely hospitable owners -- Rebecca is a dog rescuer and has placed hundreds of needy dogs and pups in the past number of years (some guests, including us, have even taken one home!). Rebecca’s animal rescue operation, Friends of Megan Animal Rescue (website FOManimalrescue.org) is a non-profit corporation under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a certified as a 501(c)(3) corporation by the IRS. All donations are fully tax-deductible.

For information on an excellent non-profit gallery in Richmond, VA, check artspacegallery.org, where I am a member.

For an excellent gallery space showing art by numerous very talented Richmond and Mid-Atlantic artists and craftspersons, check out Crossroads Art Center. Jenni Kirby, founder of that space, recently started a comprehensive website promoting Richmond area visual artists BuyRVAArt.com, aimed at promoting and encouraging online sales of their work.
